Voter Registration
Residents of Monongalia County can register to vote by completing the West Virginia Voter Registration application. The deadline to register to vote in the general election is October 18th. Applicants must be 17 years of age to apply and must be 18 on or before Election Day to be eligible to vote. If you are unable to visit the Monongalia County Clerk's Office, feel free to submit an application online or through the mail.

If you are new to Monongalia County and have not already shown identification when registering, you may be required to show an ID the first time you vote. Valid forms of ID include: A current and valid photo ID, a utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or any other official government document that shows the name and residence of the voter.
Absentee Ballots
Residents who are registered to vote in Monongalia County and will be absent or confined to their home on election day and the entirety of the early voting period may apply for an absentee ballot by November 2nd. Military and Overseas voters may take advantage of the online ballot delivery system by applying for an online absentee ballot. The deadline is November 2nd. Ballots returned by mail must be post marked by November 8th.

Early Voting
Any registered voter within Monongalia County is eligible for early voting beginning October 26th and ending November 5th. The official times and locations of early voting are as follows: Mountaineer Mall, Mason Dixon Park, Pierpont Landing, Westover Senior Center, and the WVU Alumni Center*.
